Slate & Tiled Roofs

Dry Verge System

A Dry Verge System not only adds to the aesthetics of your property but can also help increase the lifespan of your roof by protecting the edge of your roofline from adverse weather. The “verge” refers to the outer edge of your roof which is common and both semi-detached and detached properties.

Traditionally the edges are fixed with mortar to try and prevent the ingress of water and the potential inhabitance of birds within your roof. Mortar does do a good job of protecting your roof but lacks in durability and comparison to UPVC Dry Verge Systems.

A dry verge system is made from interlocking plastic caps that fit over the edge of the roof tiles. This system not only improves the look of your property but also reduce ongoing maintenance.

Leadwork Installation & Repair

Professional leadwork is essential on new and existing roofs. If you have damaged leadwork or your leadwork is poorly installed your property will quickly begin to leak.

Lead is used around chimneys and valleys to protect gaps and divert water down the roof. If done poorly the water will instead run down the gap between your chimney and roof or through the membrane of your roof.

UPVC Gutters and Fascias

Correctly installed and maintained gutters are essential in ensuring the exit of water from your roof. If your gutters are poorly installed, broken or blocked then water could be running down the walls of your home.

Although this may be ok for a short period of time the water will eventually get through the brick and mortar of your home and cause damp throughout the property. This is much easier to prevent than it is to fix the damage caused by leaking gutters.
